Berrry Systems installed System 3 perimeter safety barriers at the award-winning Marks and Spencer Car Park at Cheshire Oaks.

This 950-space car park reflects the eco-friendly design of the nearby store, incorporating features like living walls and electric vehicle charging stations.

The System 3 safety barrier is a fully tested, column-mounted system that uses tensioned steel rods and mesh panels to provide impact resistance in line with BS 1991-1-1 standards.

Its design has a zero footprint within parking bays, maximizing space usage while absorbing impact to minimize damage to both vehicles and the barrier.

With low deflection characteristics, System 3 ensures that neither the barrier nor other car park components are compromised during impact.

The System 3 barriers were installed around the entire perimeter of the upper deck and along both sides of the two-way vehicle ramp.

Custom curved sections were fabricated for the eastern corner of the deck to match the car park’s shape, offering wider access to the ramp. Installation was completed directly from the parking deck without the need for scaffolding or additional access equipment.

The project included the use of System 3 column-mounted tensioned steel barriers, tension rods attached to columns, powder-coated mesh infill panels, and pedestrian handrails.
