Porter Building

The Porter Building offers 110,625 square feet of office space and is strategically located in Slough with excellent transport links to London and surrounding areas. It includes 100 car parking spaces and 100 bicycle spaces for the convenience of employees and visitors.

Berry Systems was tasked with enhancing the safety of both vehicles and pedestrians within the building’s premises. The installation required a robust edge protection system, which was achieved with bespoke solutions.

Berry Systems installed perforated aluminium edge protection to provide effective edge protection and ensure compliance with safety standards. A combined buffer baseplate with mullion attached was designed in-house to integrate edge protection with structural elements, ensuring compliance with BS EN 1991-1-1 standards.

GH buffers, along with the Berry Beam and Radius Armco Barrier profile, were used to provide vehicle restraint and protection, incorporating flexible buffers and barrier profiles to accommodate impacts. Rubber column protection was applied to safeguard structural columns from vehicle damage. Additionally, a specialised pedestrian barrier was custom-designed to enhance pedestrian safety on the bridge walkway.
