Berry Systems provided a vehicle restraint system for NCC’s project in Uppsala, Sweden, designed to minimise deflection due to the specified cladding.
Berry Systems provided an effective vehicle restraint system solution for NCC at the Uppsala University Hospital site in Sweden. The project required a system with minimal deflection to accommodate the specified cladding.
Uppsala University Hospital, Sweden’s oldest medical institution, is renowned for its contributions to medical research and education. The hospital, which serves over 700,000 people annually, includes one of Sweden’s largest and most advanced healthcare facilities.
As part of the hospital’s multi-storey car park development, NCC needed to address parking requirements and ensure safety through a robust vehicle restraint system. Given the scale of the hospital, a solution was needed that offered effective protection for both vehicles and pedestrians.
Berry Systems installed the System 3 vehicle restraint system, specifically designed to provide minimal deflection while meeting the cladding requirements of the project.
To enhance support and safety, RB1 Intermediate Posts were incorporated to absorb impact and maintain structural integrity. Additionally, handrails and mesh were installed to protect pedestrians, ensuring a comprehensive safety solution for the car park.
