Westfield Broadway

Berry Systems provided essential barrier protection for The Broadway shopping centre in Bradford, West Yorkshire, using our spring steel posts and a selection of industrial items.

The Broadway is a prominent shopping and leisure complex in Bradford, West Yorkshire, featuring both high street and luxury brand outlets. Completed in 2015 by the Westfield Corporation, it offers over 1,000 parking spaces for visitors, making effective car park protection crucial for ensuring a safe environment.

To meet safety and legislative requirements, Berry Systems delivered a robust vehicle restraint solution. Our spring post system was chosen for its single anchor fixing and minimal footprint, which ensures it does not intrude into the parking bays. This design provided superior protection while maintaining the necessary number of parking spaces, benefiting the client with efficient use of space.

For enhanced pedestrian safety, we paired the spring post system with handrails and mesh, complying with BS EN 6180 standards. This combination offers additional protection for pedestrians in the car park.

We also installed several industrial items:

• Height restrictors to control vehicle access and prevent oversized vehicles from entering restricted areas.
• Wheel guides to aid drivers in parking correctly and reduce the risk of collisions.
• Trolley rails to facilitate the movement of shopping trolleys and prevent them from obstructing traffic flow.

These installations contribute to a comprehensive safety and access management system for The Broadway shopping centre.
