Brighton Uni project proves top class with British Parking Award
This multi storey car park project on the Moulsecoomb campus at Brighton University won the Best New Car Park Award at the 2020 British Parking Awards – with Berry Systems playing a key role in the outstanding aesthetics of the development.
Consisting of more than 830 unique pre-assembled frames containing three perforated panels, each panel was powder coated into five different RAL colours and one anodised gold section. The panels are arranged so that the overall tone of the façade lightens as the height of the building increases, reducing the perceived mass and volume and softening the building against its backdrop.
Berry Systems provided ground floor mesh panels to enclose a bike store with bespoke framing and installed handrails and balustrading to the stair cores, as well as lighting boxes, height restrictors, galvanised edge bars and flashings surrounding doors and windows
Being involved at an early stage in the design of the project meant that we could encompass various packages together enabling a turnkey solution for the façade package and to put forward preliminary designs to the architect to enable interfacing planning to be undertaken
