NCC, Sweden:
The Uppsala University Hospital in Sweden required vehicle restraint systems to be installed in the site car park. The university hospital is Sweden’s oldest and has been a key site in preparing student nurses and doctors in the world of medicine.
Nobel Prize winners have researched at the site and the first integrated children’s hospital was built at Uppsala University Hospital. The hospital is also one of Sweden’s largest, providing care and treatment for more than 700,000 people a year.
Because of the scale and size of the hospital, they have a multi-storey car park to provide patients and visitors with sufficient parking.
NCC were contracted to help fulfil the car parking needs and we were tasked with delivering a vehicle restraint system with additional pedestrian protection.
We installed our System 3 solution, which was then supported by our RB1 Intermediate Posts to give additional support should an impact occur. We also installed our Handrail and Mesh for additional pedestrian protection to the car park facility.
